Temperature of Technology
As a part of Young Vic’s FIVE SHORTS, 2025, this piece explores how mobile technology can be embraced in live theatre — not rejected, but modulated. Drawing on Marshall McLuhan’s concept of hot and cold media, it investigates how we might shift the “temperature” of mobile devices and meet them on a middle ground — using them as tools to connect with others and the world, rather than isolate.
Told through the lens of female diaspora, the piece uses mobile phones, a puppet house, and a rice cooker to explore the intersection of memory, displacement, and digital intimacy.
